March is finally here, and that means that spring is right around the corner! While I am tempted to start to clean out my flowerbeds on these temperate March afternoons, I must remember that this is New England, and that snow can fall in April (although I hope and pray that that is not the case this year!). While I may not be able to deck the outside for spring yet, it sure looks the part inside the store! There are bunnies, carrots, and flowers hanging everywhere I turn. It makes me happy just to be here every day!
I had better renew that gym membership, as Fascia’s Easter Candy has arrived! There are many yummy treats for kids of all ages, including milk, white and dark chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, coconut eggs, peanut butter eggs, oh the list goes on and on! If you have been following us on Facebook, then you already know that we are carrying Belleek China Giftware. Belleek is a fine Irish china, and I am sure that many of you have fond memories of mothers, aunts or grandmothers with pieces of Belleek adorning their dining rooms. I remember the first piece I ever received, given to me by my grandmother as an engagement gift. It was just like my Grandma Dodge, timeless and elegant. Please let me know if there is a special piece that you are looking for.
Planning on doing some baking this spring? We have some great baking sheets and pans from USA Pan out of Pennsylvania. Each one of us took a pan home to try out, and the feeling was unanimous: we just LOVE these pans! They are heavy duty so they won’t warp in the oven, they are designed for easy release, and are super easy to clean. We have expanded our kitchen and cooking area tremendously, and I am pleased to say that we have marble rolling pins, marble boards, pie weights, and a great selection of pie plates. Shun knives have just arrived in the store. These are the same knives found in gourmet kitchen stores such as Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table. Introduced to the US market back in 2002, Shun has built a reputation on innovation in knife design, as well as making each knife a functional work of art. There is a knife here for every kitchen need. I am proud to say that I have owned a few of their knives for years, and I just love the quality and the look of this product. I look forward to showing them to you too!
Kitchen appliances are arriving in store now! We have some great basics to stock or refresh your kitchen: blenders, coffee makers, coffee grinders, hand mixers, pizelle makers, bread machines, and food processors. We are carrying top brands such as Krups and Cuisinart. With all of this great stuff in the store, there is less of a reason to go to the mall. Don’t you agree?
Jo-Ann’s Tip: Electric Kettles are just better than the original stove top version! Electric kettles can be used for hot chocolate, tea, or even just boiling water for recipes. What makes them better? One button turns them on or off, the water stays warmer longer because the kettle is insulated, the side of the kettle has cup measurements on it, making it easy to prepare water for recipes, and most come with an auto shut off feature.
